As communities throughout the state continue to look for opportunities to increase the availability of clean energy, many are looking at the feasibility of forming Community Choice Aggregations. What is Community Choice Aggregation (CCA)? CCA allows communities to pool together participating electricity customers for purchasing and generating power on their behalf. Advocates believe it is an effective way for communities to become more resilient and develop the local economy, by providing long-term electrical rate stability, energy efficiency, an increase in renewable energy, and the creation of jobs.
Host Kris Kington-Barker is joined by guests Eric Veium, a member of the SLO Clean Energy Leadership Team and a founding partner and Senior Engineer for Stockman’s Water & Energy, and Cordel Stillman, the Deputy Chief Engineer of the Sonoma County Water Agency to discuss what community leaders are doing to address the growing need for local economic security and energy resilience on the Central Coast.
Central Coast Voices is sponsored by ACTION for Healthy Communities in collaboration with KCBX.
