The King City Police Department is working toward rebuilding its force, and this week added another interim position as part of the process.
The City Manger's office said Tuesday that retired Pacific Grove Police Chief Darius Engles will join the Department as an interim police captain. He'll join Interim Police Chief Anthony Sollecito and Interim Homicide Detective Allen Rowe as the third interim position on the force.
A state audit of the department is underway to look into recent corruption convictions, as well as policies and procedures. The audit was pushed for by Salinas Valley Assemblyman Luis Alejo.
