The Alisal Fire is now at 16,901 acres and 41% contained, according to Santa Barbara County Fire.

Santa Barbara County Fire spokesperson Mike Eliason said on Twitter that cooperative winds and firefighter efforts increased containment from 5% to 41%.

Highway 101 near the fire from Gaviota to Goleta has reopened, as well as Amtrak.

Of the 439 structures that have been threatened, three residences and two outbuildings have been destroyed.

1,731 personnel are assigned to the fire, according to Eliason.

There is still an evacuation order for the area west of Arroyo Hondo to intersection of Highway 101 and Highway 1, including Vista Del Mar School and Gaviota Beach. An evacuation order is also still in effect for Arroyo Hondo Canyon, Refugio Canyon, and the area between El Capitan Beach State Park and West Camino Cielo.

There is also an evacuation warning for the area of Hollister Ranch and the area east of El Capitan Beach State Park, west of Dos Pueblos Canyon Rd, and south of West Camino Cielo.

The American Red Cross is supporting evacuees at the evacuation at Dos Pueblos High School in Goleta, and the Earl Warren Showgrounds are being used to house large animals.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to Santa Barbara County Fire.
