Oceano ready for new General Manager to start this summer

The man who has been in charge of San Luis Obispo County's public works department for the past several years will become Oceano's new general manager this summer. Paavo Ogren is expected to begin running the Community Services District in July.

Mary Lucey is the vice president of the district board and told KCBX Friday, they're very excited to have somebody of Ogren's caliper ready to take charge.

Ogren will make $196,000 per year, according to Lucey. That will make him the highest paid person in that position in the county, the Tribune reports.

Oceano has been without a leader since mid-March, and has been through a string of general managers over the past several years.

Lucey says good things are finally coming to Oceano with Ogren's arrival.
