The first hour of life outside the womb is a special time when babies meet their parents for the first time and a family is formed. It is a "sacred" time that should be honored, cherished and protected whenever possible.
Host Elizabeth Barrett is joined by Dr. Raylene Phillips, president of the Association for Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology and Health. They talk about the impact of pregnancy and birth on the development of children and the effects of these early bonding experiences on their mental health and well-being into adulthood.
