Journeys of Discovery: empowering employees, community engagement at the Hilton Austin

Thomas Wilmer
Hilton Austin is in the heart of the city's historic district.

Discover why the employee retention rate at the Hilton Austin is one of the highest in the region. According to the management, the company's philosophy empowers the employees and supports community engagement inside the hotel and throughout the community.

Correspondent Tom Wilmer reports from Austin, Texas at the downtown Hilton Hotel, where he visits with Bea Jaramillo, director of human resources; Anthony Ybarra, assistant director of food and beverage; and general manager Joe Bolash.

As an example of Hilton Austin's successful model as a trend-setting hospitality business, the hotel was awarded the prestigious Connie Award in 2017 as the highest-ranked Hilton-branded hotel in the Americas.

Music in the podcast was performed by award-winning county musician John Arthur Martinez, based in the fabled Highland Lakes Region of the Texas Hill Country.
