Katelyn Schiavone
Director of Community Engagement and EventsKatelyn is responsible for cultivating, executing, and overseeing community and donor stewardship events intended to engage current and new listeners and donors throughout the Central Coast and beyond. She also serves as the operations director and concessions coordinator for Live Oak Music Festival.
Additionally, Katelyn oversees written and on-air communications for the station and Live Oak, supports on-air pledge drives, coordinates KCBX programming updates and FCC reporting, and collaborates on underwriting messaging.
She moved to the Central Coast in 2018 and first got involved with KCBX and the Live Oak family when she volunteered on the concessions team to coordinate food vendors for Live Oak as a way to get to know the community and combine her passions for live music, event coordination, public radio, and journalism.
Katelyn holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences from the University of Georgia. She has backgrounds in event planning and execution, organizational leadership, operations, client contract management, vendor negotiation, volunteer management, budgeting, marketing, promotion, and service, which all integrate flawlessly within her role for KCBX and Live Oak.
