Finding a parking space in downtown Santa Barbara just got easier.
The city went live with a free online tool Monday that shows you in real-time how many spaces are available at the 12 lots and parking structures located near the State Street cooridor.
The numbers update every 15 seconds and the lots are color coded green, yellow and red based on available spaces.
Currently the service is only available on the city's website, but the page is mobile-friendly with interactive GPS abilities for Google Maps directions.
The parking department hopes to hear from those who use the tool during these early weeks, to help perfect it.
