Bill McQuay is an audio producer with the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. For fifteen years McQuay was an NPR sound engineer and technical director for NPR programs including Morning Edition, Weekend Saturday and Sunday, Performance Today and NPR's Radio Expeditions. Radio Expeditions is where McQuay began his long time collaboration with NPR science correspondent Christopher Joyce, a creative relationship that continues today.

John Poole is a senior visuals editor at NPR. He loves working with talented people and teams to create compelling stories that resonate with the 40 million people who visit NPR's digital platforms each month.

Jeevika Verma joined NPR's Morning Edition and Up First as a producer in February 2020. During her time there, she's produced a variety of stories ranging from Afghanistan peace talks, COVID surges in India and local & state elections. Verma also contributes to arts and poetry coverage for NPR's culture desk, and is always trying to get more poets on air. She leads the Morning Edition diversity council and works on DEI efforts across the network to help NPR live up to its mission.

Lauren Yoon became a news intern at KCBX in September of 2025. Lauren is working towards a BA in journalism and ethnic studies at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and hopes to work for an independent media outlet after graduating. When she's not in school or producing news for the station, she enjoys cooking, spending time with her partner, and going on runs.

David McAbee worked at KCBX from March to November 0f 2026. He was the producer of Issues and Ideas and a substitute local host during Morning Edition, All Things Considered, and other network programs.
