KCBX News internLauren Yoon became a news intern at KCBX in September of 2025. Lauren is working towards a BA in journalism and ethnic studies at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and hopes to work for an independent media outlet after graduating. When she's not in school or producing news for the station, she enjoys cooking, spending time with her partner, and going on runs.

The City of Morro Bay could soon start negotiations to buy the old Morro Elementary campus from the San Luis Coastal Unified School District. Residents have been urging both sides to reach a deal, hoping to keep the property out of private developers’ hands.
