At the end of February, when Arroyo Grande city staff floated the idea of leaving the Five Cities Fire Authority (FCFA) in San Luis Obispo County, it threatened the future of fire services for the city, as well as Oceano and Grover Beach. This week, the Arroyo Grande city council decided the fire department shouldn’t disband yet. And now all three communities served by the FCFA—Arroyo Grande, Oceano and Grover Beach—have six months to come up with funding plan all agree on.

Morro Bay's city manager resigns

The city of Morro Bay is looking for a new city manager. David Buckingham, who’s been the city's top administrator for the past three years, announced his last day will be June 26.

Arroyo Grande City Manager Steve Adams announced Thursday that he's stepping down from his position in the wake of an ongoing investigation into an incident this past summer at City Hall.

Adams and a female employee were found after hours by police at the facility sparking controversy within the community.
