Correspondent Tom Wilmer reports from Tennessee with Cindy Dupree, Director of Communications for the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development.
Ms. Dupree and Tom visit the Andrew Johnson National Historic Site in Greenville, the Bristol Motor Speedway, and the Birthplace of Country Music Museum in Bristol, Tennessee.
Next stop is the National Storytelling Center in Jonesborough, followed by Ms. Dupree’s Highlights of Knoxville. The last stop is the Choo Choo Hotel located in Chattanooga’s former Terminal train station where Ms. Dupree talks about the legendary big band World War II Glenn Miller hit song, Chattanooga Choo Choo. The tune hit the charts as the number one song in America on December 7th 1941. The music post-script is a live recording from the 2016 Coke ovens Bluegrass Festival in the rural village of Dunlap, Tennessee.
