Celebrate the holiday season with A Christmas Story, the beloved stage adaptation of Jean Shepherd’s classic tale of 1940s childhood dreams and holiday misadventures. Follow 9-year-old Ralphie Parker on his determined quest for the ultimate Christmas gift—a genuine Red Ryder BB gun. Along the way, he pleads his case with cranky parents, stern teachers, even Santa himself! The consistent response: “You’ll shoot your eye out!”

Packed with holiday mischief, childhood dreams and nostalgic charm, A Christmas Story captures the magic of the season with wit, warmth and plenty of laughs. Bring the whole family and make this cherished classic part of your holiday tradition!

Calling all crafty, caring, pet-loving kids! Care Crew members will have the opportunity to join us in filling Kongs for our canines to enjoy in their kennels, crafting homemade pet toys, and creating art to help showcase our adoptable animals. Care Crew will be held at our San Luis Obispo location on Sundays from 2:00 to 3:30 pm.

Don't miss the annual Tree Lighting and Snow Event on Sunday, December 14th, from 5 pm to 7 pm at Elm Street Park. Enjoy 20 tons of snow, Santa Tree Lighting, a winter-themed bouncetown, 'mores, carriage rides, photo ops, food vendors, music and more.

These interactive, welcoming workshops use the tools of improvisational theater—like play, spontaneity, and "yes, and"—to build real-life skills for communication, confidence, and connection. No acting or comedy experience is needed. Through guided games and group activities, participants explore how improv principles can help them listen more fully, respond more flexibly, and thrive in daily life, even when things don’t go as planned.

Whether you're looking to speak up more, connect with others, or simply have fun in a judgment-free space, these workshops offer something for everyone.

Enjoy an evening of Christmas posada, carols, songs, actors, and folkloric ballet featuring the esteemed Mariachi Plata from Western New Mexico University.

This group of young maestros who love mariachi music has toured throughout the United States and Mexico, participating in major festivals including De Tecalitlan Los Sones in Jalisco, Mexico where they were named "Festival Favorite."

This MBAA Members ONLY exhibit is truly a holiday shopping bonanza. The Winter Faire is a perfect destination for getting inspired. Come find the perfect gift while supporting local artisans. There is something for everyone. Handcrafted ornaments, jewelry and cards, paintings, sculptures, larger statement pieces and more. This show is not to be missed, whether you’re knocking out your entire holiday shopping list or just looking a unique gift for that someone special, purchasing art at the Winter Faire is a chance to give with meaning while sharing the magic of creativity.

The Cambria Center for the Arts will be having our annual Holiday Exhibit, “Small Gems.” We're ending 2025 with colorful squares once again. Our talented local artists are creating miniature masterpieces on 8- and 12-inch canvases—on any theme or topic. Each one will be unique and ready to gift or collect.
