The San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Tuesday to extend an urgency ordinance aimed at protecting oak woodlands.
The extension will keep the ordinance in place into next spring as county staff works on a permanent version.
The supervisors also voted unanimously to extend an urgency ordinance related to groundwater retention ponds until May 16 of next year.
Both issues were thrust into the local scene this past June, when it came to light that Justin Vineyards was clear cutting large swaths of oak woodland in the Paso Robles area and building a massive groundwater retention pond.
Community members then pushed the supervisors to address the issues in July.
