Military fire crews, with help from Santa Barbara County Fire, are fighting a brush fire that has sparked at Vandenberg Air Force Base. As of Wednesday afternoon, it’s burned between five and ten acres and is moving at a slow-to-moderate speed.

According to Mike Eliason of the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the brush fire is near San Antonio Road and Highway 1. It’s ben dubbed the San Antonio Fire.

“The Vandenberg Fire Department is currently working with local agencies in response to the fire on Firefighter Road” said a Public Affairs official from Vandenberg Air Force Base. "We are working diligently to contain the fire and protect the community. Teamwork is vital for emergency response, and we truly value our longstanding partnerships with the community to provide mutual aid during times of need."

We will have more information as it becomes available.
