A vegetation fire broke out near Highway 1 in the Vandenberg Village area, prompting evacuation orders and road closures. As of 3 p.m. Thursday forward progress of the Santa Lucia Fire has stopped and all evacuation orders and warnings have been cancelled. Nearby road closures are still in effect.

The Plant Fire broke out on the west side of New Cuyama at around 1:20 pm on Saturday, causing evacuation orders and a stretch of Highway 166 to close. Santa Barbara County fire officials said as of 4:42 p.m. on Sunday, the blaze is at 60% containment and has burned about 5,500 acres.
