The San Luis Obispo County Public Health Department has announced the county will move into the less restrictive orange tier of the COVID-19 tiered reopening system effective 8 a.m. on April 28, 2021.

Moving into the orange tier means businesses -- including restaurants, gyms and fitness centers, wineries and places of worship -- can increase indoor capacities.

Some businesses, such as bars without food service, breweries and campgrounds can resume outdoor operations, with modifications.

Monterey County moved into the orange tier on April 7 and Santa Barbara County advanced to the orange tier on April 21.

For more information about reopening guidelines, including a checklist for capacity limits and restrictions, visit the county's emergency information website.
