Five pro-Palestinian activists vandalized parts of the Cal Poly campus this week—that’s according university officials. It’s the latest incident as tensions rise on campus over Israel’s war in Gaza.

Protestors filled Downtown San Luis Obispo on May 15 and waved Palestinian flags to mark Nakba Day. Nakba, translated into Arabic, means ‘catastrophe.’ The Day commemorates the displacement of an estimated 750,000 Palestinians during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War.

More than one hundred students, faculty and staff gathered at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo for a demonstration in support of Palestinian civilians Thursday.
