Chattanoogas' 212 Market #1 ranked farm-to-table and 1st Certified Green Restaurant in Tennessee

212 Market

Sisters, Sally and Susan Moses and their mom, Maggie had a vision to open a trend-setting restaurant in downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee

The family envisioned a farm-to-table model, about two-decades before the concept became a nationwide trend.

After three years of negotiating loans, securing a zoning change from industrial to retail, and extensively remodeling the former Studebaker dealership, their 212 Market Restaurant opened for business in 1992.

From the get-go response to their bison ribeye, trout, and grass-fed burgers, and killer deserts created in their on-site bakery resulted in an ardent following that continues today.

It’s not surprising that 212 Market is a member of the Trip Advisor Hall of Fame and has received untold awards, including the “Best Farm-to-Table restaurant in Tennessee” bestowed by Travel + Leisure in May 2016.

Join correspondent Tom Wilmer for a visit with sisters, Sally and Susan Moses at their award-winning downtown Chattanooga restaurant, just a short stroll from the Tennessee Aquarium.
