Hundreds of vendors fill the Sunset Drive-In every Sunday morning from 6 am to 3 pm for their weekly Swap Meet. There are food trucks and parking is free outside the gate. Admission is $1.00. Rain cancels.

Art Center Morro Bay proudly presents the MBAA Illuminations exhibit joined with the Central Coast Artists Collective of Photography and Fine Craft juried exhibit. Illuminations: Reflections and Shadows: we see them in a mirror, a pond, or a puddle. It could be your face, the light from the sky, or the silhouette of a scene shining on a surface. Illuminations is an MBAA members-only exhibition which dives into the study of light and the ways it reveals, transforms and inspires. CCAC Photographers & Craft makers: Central Coast Photographic Society and the Craft makers Coalition join forces for an exhibition in the Russell Gallery (upstairs), running concurrently with "Illuminations" downstairs. Member artists display recent works, highlighting variety in technique and subject matter.Runs through June 23.
The Cambria Center for the Arts (CCA) is thrilled to announce this special exhibit, a unique art and literary event. The work of local visual artists will be displayed along with accompanying brief, written interpretations provided by a talented community of writers. Participants will include the Joslyn Center group, “Rough Writers,” as well as a variety of local poets, novelists, journalists, and high school students. Amateur and professional writers will partake in this event. Join the California Nature Art Museum and Artist Mona Lewis for an earth pigments and natural paints workshop. During this workshop, participants will get an introduction to making and using earth pigments, which are colors collected from the local natural landscape with beauty, sustainability, and fun in mind. You will learn how to identify rocks suitable for paint, best practices for collecting respectfully, and how to turn stones into pigments. Participants will also make their own paints using a mortar and pestle, then use their pigments to paint an image of their choice.Mona Lewis is an artist and arts educator, specializing in revitalizing the lost art of using plant dyes and earth pigments and teaching students how to use them in their work. .The class fee for this workshop is $65 for CalNAM Members and $80 for CalNAM Non-Members, all supplies included.Questions? The Wind Orchestra will present Peter Meechan’s “James Webb’s Pillars (From A Starry Night)” — with allusions to Vincent Van Gogh and the famous 1995 NASA Pillars of Creation photo — and “Dreams of an Architect” by Joshua Ideo. The Wind Ensemble will perform Frank Ticheli’s “Angels in the Architecture” and “Cathedrals” by Kathryn Salfelder. Clarinetist Sarra Hey-Folick will be the guest soloist for “Black Dog Rhapsody” by Scott McAllister, a fun piece that draws inspiration from Led Zeppelin. Christopher J. Woodruff directs the Wind Ensemble, and Nicholas P. Waldron directs the Wind Orchestra. Tickets are sold at the Cal Poly Ticket Office, 805-756-4849.
