The Cambria Center for the Arts (CCA) is thrilled to announce this special exhibit, a unique art and literary event. The work of local visual artists will be displayed along with accompanying brief, written interpretations provided by a talented community of writers. Participants will include the Joslyn Center group, “Rough Writers,” as well as a variety of local poets, novelists, journalists, and high school students. Amateur and professional writers will partake in this event.
When: April 29 to June 29 (Tuesday through Sundays from 12 to 4 pm)

* All-ages, all-volunteer nonprofit community band

Two all-new string quartets were hand-picked from our incredible roster of fellows to elevate their collaborative artistry. Program:

Spokes Ask an Expert is a series of small-group learning sessions that bring together nonprofit leaders and staff with local experts to explore timely and relevant topics. This session is dedicated to Legal Issues. Attendees will have the opportunity to submit questions in advance and engage in live discussions during the session.
The following topics could serve as a basis for generating questions:
—Board Responsibilities and Governance
—Fundraising and Donor Compliance
—Employment and Volunteers
—Maintaining Tax-Exempt Status
—Contracts and Liability
—Basic Guidance on Immigration Orders

The 2022 Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient brings his signature blend of technical virtuosity and profound musicality to a decadent program of violin sonatas and chamber music.
Goosby is joined by fellows and two Academy alums: his brother, cellist Miles Goosby, and pianist Zhu Wang, creating musical connections that bridge family bonds, artistic lineage, and Music Academy history in one extraordinary evening.

This small group gathering provides support for expectant and postpartum parents/caregivers in nurturing their mental, emotional, and physical well-being. We’ll create a safe space where attendees can connect, reflect, and grow through their shared and lived experience of pregnancy into parenthood.
The group meets in the natural setting of the Children’s Garden at the SLO Botanical Garden. This event will offer guest speakers, guided journaling, peer support, and facilitated discussions, all rooted in evidence-based care and holistic wellness.
