Aug 30 Saturday
This event is for anyone affected by overdose or substance use or for those who just wish to learn more about the issue. There will be a resource fair with over 20 local agencies participating. Several of these agencies provide free trainings in using naloxone, brand name Narcan, the overdose reversal drug and provide it free to participants. Learn about the services available in our county!
We also offer activities including rock painting, a memorial flag display, and an opportunity to create a photo memorial to loved ones. We will present a panel of local people sharing their lived experience. The event closes with a ceremony presented by Hospice of SLO County with the Threshold Singers, poetry, and a candle-lighting ceremony to remember and honor loved ones lost to and those affected by overdose.
