Pianist and music Professor Emeritus W. Terrence Spiller will give his final Beethoven sonata cycle recital in the Pavilion of the Performing Arts Center. The program will be bookended by two large sonatas: the massive Sonata No. 4 in E-flat Major, Op. 7, and the joyously majestic “Waldstein” sonata, No. 21 in C Major, Op. 53. Come join us for the KCBX Parking Lot Music Sale on Saturday, May 11 from 9 AM through 1 PM. We’ll be selling loads of vinyl and CDs, including many from the KCBX and KCPR archives, and from the private collection of KCBX Music Director Neal Losey! There will be an overwhelming amount of music in almost every genre you can imagine, along with collectibles, books, stereo equipment, and more!
The sale is located at KCBX's address, 4100 Vachell Lane, San Luis Obispo. All proceeds will support KCBX and Cal Poly’s radio station, KCPR.

Learn the basics of installing rooftop solar energy systems and water heater electrification by volunteering with SunWork. This 3-hour online event teaches the basics of rooftop solar, solar equipment, electricity, and construction safety. This orientation is a great opportunity to learn about clean renewable energy. In 1989, a small group walking tour of the downtown area began being led by highly knowledgeable volunteer docents. These Saturday tours focused on architectural styles, significant and historic buildings, aesthetics, past and present building usage, and landscape history. To this day, tours are available every Saturday and Sunday at 10 am led by our dedicated and knowledgeable group of volunteer docents. The annual San Luis Obispo Out of the Darkness Campus Walk is hosted by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Greater Los Angeles & Central Coast Chapter, Cal Poly Campus Health & Wellbeing, and SLO County Behavioral Health. This gathering will support the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s education, research, and survivor support programs. This May exhibit by Lori Slater features a selection from the last 20 years of 12 representational watercolors and acrylics. The subject matter includes some figures in natural and imaginative environments, with the seaside a recurring theme.

Each year Olive and Lavender farmers and artisans showcase their handcrafted products such as olive oils, lavender, skincare products, culinary products and so much more—there is something for everyone. Join us as we invite you to savor extra virgin and flavored olive oils, culinary lavender and, it would not be a festival without olive oil ice cream.New this year, the Main Street Lounge! Located near the Gazebo, there will be sips available for purchase provided by the SLO County Distillery Trail and local beer and wine producers. In this area, you will also be invited to see a live demonstration of the lavender essential oil distillation process in a copper alembic still provided by the Hambly Lavender Farm with demonstrations throughout the day.
