Pismo group turns in signatures to block Price Canyon development

Verification is currently underway on  919 signatures submitted to the City of Pismo Beach this week, aimed at limiting a large development that has the potential to double the size of the city.

The group Save Price Canyon is hoping to get an initiative on this November's ballot, and turned in hundreds more signatures than are needed to qualify.

"I have begun the 30 day signature verification and, should the petition be sufficient and qualify, I will take the results to the June 3rd City Council meeting for their consideration," said Pismo Beach City Clerk Elainia Cano. "At that time, the Council can decide to adopt the ordinance in its entirety, request to have it placed on the November 2014 ballot or direct staff to present a report in accordance with Elections Code 9212."
