Gross announces bid for Congress, pool of candidates grows to 7

Randol White, KCBX News

The pool of candidates vying for the 24th District Congressional seat continues to grow with a total of seven candidates in the race.

Nipomo resident Tyler Gross announced his candidacy to represent the Central Coast in Washington Wednesday night.

Gross is originally from Tennessee but has been living in California for more than a decade now.

He owns a legal document assisting firm with offices in San Luis Obispo, Nipomo and Lompoc.

Gross, who is running as a moderate republican, said current leadership is out of touch.

He said he wants to focus on creating jobs, making higher education affordable, work for LGBT equality and full equality for women, supporting small business and securing America's borders.
