On this week’s Issues & Ideas, one of the Central Coast’s most prominent music festivals starts soon. We chat with Festival Mozaic music director Scott Yoo and new executive director Lloyd Tanner about what to expect this year.
Also, a historic WWII U.S. Army Air Force rescue boat is open for tours on the Morro Bay waterfront. It's run by the Morro Bay Maritime Museum. We get to know more about the museum's other offerings, including a deep-sea rescue submarine and a tug boat that was a hero of WWII, when it rescued survivors of an oil tanker sunk by a Japanese submarine four miles off the coast of Cambria. And it’s been the deadliest year on record for Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Area, and for years, local residents have complained the park creates noise and pollution. The string of deaths at the park has brought its use into question, leaving some to ask: who deserves greater access to the beach? To hear these stories and more, click the play button up above.
