Audio Postcard: The 2020 San Luis Obispo Women's March

Katherine Lane
Holding up his handmade sign, Santa Maria teacher Kevin Foote joined this year's Women's March for his students, many of whom are mariginalized, he said.

On January 18, across the nation and the world, people of all backgrounds joined together for the 2020 Women’s March. It’s mission is to "harness the political power of diverse communities to create social change." In San Luis Obispo, thousands gathered to participate in Monterey, San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria and Santa Barbara.

Reporting for KCBX News, Cal Poly student and newsroom volunteer Katherine Lane interviewed people as they marched in San Luis Obispo.  Click the Listen button above to hear an audio postcard, featuring the voices of Kevin Foote, Ralph and Cerita Hyde and Cal Poly students Eric Houghton, Lauren Peachey and Sarah Flores. The last person you hear speaking declined to identify himself.
