Tyler Pratt was a reporter, host and producer at KCBX from 2018 to 2020. You could hear him on weekdays filing news reports and hosting afternoon programming. Tyler hails from the deserts of West Texas but likes to call the the swamps of Louisiana home. He fell in love with public radio over a decade ago while studying improv comedy at the Second City in Los Angeles. He spent so much time in his car listening to KCRW while driving between auditions and various jobs that he eventually became inspired to switch careers from acting to radio journalism.

Cole Pressler was an intern for KCBX News during the summer of 2024. He is working to earn his B.S. in Journalism from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He is also a data and investigations reporter for Cal Poly’s Mustang News and a news reporter for KCPR 91.3 FM. He’s originally from Portland, Oregon. When he’s not in the newsroom, he likes to play guitar, watch Jeopardy! and climb trees.

With more than 25 years of experience as a wine journalist and consultant, Mira Advani Honeycutt has covered California’s wine districts and specifically its Central Coast region. She contributes the monthly segment "Wine Country" to Issues & Ideas on KCBX.

After a 14-year radio career that started in the late '70s as a DJ, Production Director and Program Director in commercial radio, Brad Kyle spent several years in business operations supporting the tech sector before he resumed his broadcast career when he joined the KCBX air staff in February, 2021. You can hear Brad regularly host KCBX midday programs, and he also subs occasionally as the local host on Morning Edition, All Things Considered and weekends. In addition, Brad is the KCBX operations assistant, working behind the scenes on our logs, production, our automation system, and more.

Steve Jenkins is the co-host of Citizen Sound with Kat Orozco every other Sunday night/Monday morning from 11pm-1am. Steve became addicted to music and radio at a young age, the early years of his lifelong insomnia being narrated by late night personalities. Both Dr. Demento and Art Bell amplified Steve’s draw toward the fringes of the musical spectrum (and probably society, as a whole). By his early 20s, Steve’s passion for art and collaboration with fellow weirdos pushed him toward a deep immersion in DIY Punk culture, regularly finding himself entangled in creative micro-communities spanning the West Coast. His dedication to the arts led him to a career as a creative professional, primarily working as an audio engineer in a cross section of the Film, TV, and Gaming Industries.

“How can the angels get to sleep When the Devil leaves his porch light on?” — Unknown. Dee-troit Deb has pondered that question ever since hearing it on an obscure radio program many years ago. Suspecting that the answer just might lie in the blues, Deb began hosting The Evening Blues, which you can hear on KCBX every other Saturday night from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m.
