Hello Mended Hearts Chapter #415 Members and Friends,

Our speaker will be fellow Mended Hearts Chapter #415 member Daniel Wickstrom. Daniel is a heart transplant survivor whose recovery illustrates the challenges and triumphs of the transplantation journey.

Our meeting will take place in the Copeland Education Pavilion 3rd floor auditorium, French Hospital. Parking in the rear of the hospital puts you closest to our meeting location.

In addition to an opportunity to hear Daniel's inspiring story, you will also have a chance to spend time with others on a heart health journey. The meeting is open to all, so feel free to bring a friend. We hope to see you next week.

The Development Directors Roundtable is a collaboration between Spokes and the Association of Fundraising Professionals of San Luis Obispo County.

Spokes roundtables are facilitated, peer networking and problem-solving opportunities held monthly. At the start of the roundtable, participants introduce themselves and share some good news or something that’s “keeping them up at night.” They may also offer a “spotlight topic” for consideration during the meeting.

A hallmark of the roundtables is confidentiality. The explicit norm is “what’s said in the roundtable stays in the roundtable.” This encourages mutual support and a candid exchange of ideas.

We are filling the seats for another popular Improv Extravaganza! Four improv teams take the stage with their brand of weird, funny, unscripted comedy. Delight, laughter and merriment ensues. Hosted by local improv trio Zombie Skillet. Join us for an evening of fun.

My last costume drawing workshop went so great, I am teaching it again. I will share the tips, tricks and lessons I learned working for 25 years in animation—beginning as an assistant animator at Walt Disney Feature Animation. I returned to Portrait Painting after working as a supervising director at Netflix.
Topics include:

—Goals, State of Mind, Breaking Old Habits, Quick Sketch, Line, Rhythm, Form, and Draped Fabric.

This is a drawing workshop, but bring the materials you are comfortable working with - except no oil paints.

Concerts in the Plaza takes place every Friday night through September 12 at Mission Plaza in Downtown San Luis Obispo, with free live music from 5 to 8 pm.

The San Luis Obispo College of Law will celebrate 10 years of legal education and will welcome new President and CEO, Lisa Sperow, at the Open House Event.
Since opening its doors in 2015, SLOCL has served aspiring attorneys, working professionals, and community leaders with a rigorous, accessible, and community-focused legal education.
To commemorate this 10th anniversary, the school is hosting an open house event to welcome students, alumni, faculty, and community partners. The celebration also includes a special introduction of Lisa Sperow as the new President and CEO of Monterey College of Law, the parent institution of San Luis Obispo College of Law.

On Labor Day Weekend join the Cambria Lions Club as they celebrate the 75th Pinedorado Days. This will be an exciting event for the entire family.
