Author, photographer, and kayaker Chuck Graham will take guests on a tour of Channel Islands National Park in his talk at The Bunker. Through his lens, Chuck captures the amazing beauty, wildness and wonders of this precious ecosystem and brings it to life in vibrant colors, images and stories. Channel Islands National Park has long represented an evolutionary hotbed for plant and animal species, some of which are found nowhere else in the world, and its protection is vital.After the talk, Chuck will sign and sell his latest book, "Paddling Into a Natural Balance: Stories of Kayaking & Conservation Around Channel Islands National Park."

This concert features the Cuesta Concord Chorus and our guest choirs: The Coro Nacional de Puerto Rico, and the Trinity Chancel Choir of Denver.The concert will begin immediately after the last set of “Concerts in the Plaza,” presented by Downtown SLO, and held outdoors next to the Mission. Plan to arrive early to find parking downtown and enjoy the lively music in the Plaza as you make your way to the Mission.

The Estuary Program is partnering with Morro Bay in Bloom during one of their weekly Saturday town beautification events. Participants will be pulling invasive plants and weeds, and planting throughout Tidelands Park. All ages and abilities are welcome, but minors must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring your own water bottle and sun protection. All other supplies and tools will be provided.

My last costume drawing workshop went so great, I am teaching it again. I will share the tips, tricks and lessons I learned working for 25 years in animation—beginning as an assistant animator at Walt Disney Feature Animation. I returned to Portrait Painting after working as a supervising director at Netflix.Topics include:—Goals, State of Mind, Breaking Old Habits, Quick Sketch, Line, Rhythm, Form, and Draped Fabric.This is a drawing workshop, but bring the materials you are comfortable working with - except no oil paints.Bring an easel if you prefer. Art Center Morro Bay presents “Everyday Common Things”, a MBAA members only exhibit, celebrating the often-overlooked objects and moments of daily life. This theme challenges artists to transform the mundane-simple objects, outings, or familiar scenes into works of art that reveal their hidden significance or charm. By capturing the essence of the ordinary, artists can invite viewers to see the world around them in new and unexpected ways, finding inspiration and the creativity in the simplicity of everyday life.
In addition, Central Coast Artists Collective presents, The Painter’s Group juried annual Brushstrokes exhibit along with “Off the Wall”, the Central Coast Sculptors exhibit. Brushstrokes 2025, a California-wide non-themed annual juried exhibition, showcases a diverse array of artistic expression across various painting mediums, including acrylic, oil, pastel, watercolor, encaustic, digital, and collage.
Exhibition schedule is August 7th to September 15th with theArtist’s Reception on Sunday, August 9th from 2 to 4 pm.

Writing under the pen name Cate Touryan, local author Ann C. Hanna will have a moderated discussion about her new novel, Turning Toward Eden. Cate's editor, her daughter, will serve as the moderator for this discussion.The novel follows fourteen-year-old Eden in early 1970s California during the Cold War chill. It is an evocative story laced with mystery—and set in a fictional Avila Beach— Turning Toward Eden offers hope to anyone who has sought to belong in a world that rarely plays fair.
