Art Center Morro Bay presents “Everyday Common Things”, a MBAA members only exhibit, celebrating the often-overlooked objects and moments of daily life. This theme challenges artists to transform the mundane-simple objects, outings, or familiar scenes into works of art that reveal their hidden significance or charm. By capturing the essence of the ordinary, artists can invite viewers to see the world around them in new and unexpected ways, finding inspiration and the creativity in the simplicity of everyday life.
In addition, Central Coast Artists Collective presents, The Painter’s Group juried annual Brushstrokes exhibit along with “Off the Wall”, the Central Coast Sculptors exhibit. Brushstrokes 2025, a California-wide non-themed annual juried exhibition, showcases a diverse array of artistic expression across various painting mediums, including acrylic, oil, pastel, watercolor, encaustic, digital, and collage.
Exhibition schedule is August 7th to September 15th with theArtist’s Reception on Sunday, August 9th from 2 to 4 pm.

Internationally known Carl Sonny Leyland, the host of Rhythm Retrospective on KCBX featuring the history of Boogie, Stride, Ragtime and Honky Tonk, as well as his own piano work will be playing in an intimate air-conditioned setting with the a Grammy winning Danny Coots on drums. $20 at the door, $10 for teens, children 5-12 free. Food and drink including wine available. Doors open 4 pm.

Trio of Carl Sonny Leyland, internationally known for his boogie, blues, and Jazz, also known for his history off this period of early 20th Century music, but locally known for his Rhythm Retrospective show on KCBX. Playing with Grammy winning drummer Danny Coots, and the local Trumpeter Marc Caperone.

This fun and engaging art class series focuses on creating characters and animals while introducing and developing fundamental drawing techniques in a playful manner. Building on simple shapes and basic anatomical structures, we will be trying cartoon and realistic styles, exploring faces and expression, and bringing the characters to life.Join us for the whole 3-week series, because lessons can build upon each other!
