In a musical landscape of songs that are often written by men, and for men — Reyna has created their own history.Under the leadership of ten-time Grammy nominee, Maestro Jose Hernandez, Reyna was the first female Mariachi to break out of local level recognition to international stardom with original compositions, arrangements and interpretations of mariachi classics.

Volunteers accomplish a variety of tasks including pathways maintenance, litter patrol of the garden perimeter, weeding, irrigation system expansion/repairs, pruning, and plantings. Volunteers should bring work gloves, a hat, drinking water, and tools related to the above activities. In 1989, a small group walking tour of the downtown area began being led by highly knowledgeable volunteer docents. These Saturday tours focused on architectural styles, significant and historic buildings, aesthetics, past and present building usage, and landscape history. To this day, tours are available every Saturday and Sunday at 10 am led by our dedicated and knowledgeable group of volunteer docents. The San Luis Obispo Museum of Art is pleased to present Outlandish, an NEA Our Town grant-funded exhibition by multidisciplinary artist April Banks. Including film, mixed media, ritual, and sculpture, Outlandish imagines a respite of mystery for those who most need it. This exhibition returns to and proceeds from ancient knowledge and harmony with nature, world-building an alternate narrative toward a freer existence. Runs April 5 to July 29.
