New federal requirements are changing how individuals maintain access to essential benefits like CalFresh and Medi-Cal, with work and community engagement requirements beginning June 1, 2026 for CalFresh and January 1, 2027 for Medi-Cal.
In this roundtable session, representatives from the Family Service Agency will share how nonprofits can help minimize loss of Medi-Cal coverage by supporting CenCal Health members in meeting H.R.1 community engagement and six-month renewal requirements. A CalFresh Program Manager from the County of San Luis Obispo Department of Social Services will provide an overview of upcoming CalFresh changes, including who will be impacted, what these changes will look like for participants, and which types of community engagement activities will count toward the requirements.
Together, we’ll explore the role nonprofits can play in creating accessible, trackable volunteer opportunities that help community members stay connected to critical services.

Escape to the California coast for a weekend of watercolor, inspiration, and connection at Camp Ocean Pines, perched on the bluffs of beautiful Cambria. Over three days, artist and instructor Jay Stieler will guide you through painting the iconic landscapes of the Central Coast: from misty hills and oak-studded valleys to the rugged coast and shimmering ocean light.
Whether you’re new to watercolor or an experienced painter, this retreat will focus on technique development, confidence, and your own creative voice in a peaceful, supportive setting.
Gather your friends and head over to Hubba Wines in Tin City for live music every Friday evening from May 1 to August 28th. Raise a glass to the setting sun while swaying to the tunes of talented local bands. We’ll have wine and food available for purchase.
Doors open at 5:00 pm. Music starts at 6:00 pm. All ages welcome. $5.00 donation per person at the door.
The Cal Poly Spring Jazz Concert will feature performances by Cal Poly’s University Jazz Band and four Jazz Combos. Highlights of the jazz band’s set include Don Menza’s blazing fast trumpet feature “Dizzyland,” Ryan Haines’ ballad “There’s a Letter from Home,” and Marshall Gilkes’ “4711 Special,” a contemporary chart that will feature extended solos by saxophonist Will Last, and trombonist Sam Stabinsky.

Join us for the 20th Annual Jazz & Olive Festival presented by the Rotary Club of Los Olivos. Enjoy an afternoon of live music, award-winning wines of Santa Barbara County, and delicious olive-based appetizers and desserts.
The Rotary Club of Los Olivos contributes all festival proceeds directly to local scholarships and to local and international community service projects.
This light opera will be accompanied by a local live professional orchestra. Directed by Marcy Irving, with Vocal Direction by Paul Osborne, and live orchestra conducted by Jennifer Martin.

Melodious Funk returns to Celia's Cafe to perform their brand of classic jazz and funky fusion. Celia's offers good eats and drinks in a spacious outdoor setting.
Cal Poly’s Symphony and Choirs will perform two of the most famous works in the Western Classical repertory: Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 and Igor Stravinsky’s “Symphony of Psalms.” The Fresno City College City Singers under the direction of Jennifer Heder will join the Cal Poly groups, making for a combined total of nearly 250 performers onstage.
