This fun and engaging art class series focuses on creating characters and animals while introducing and developing fundamental drawing techniques in a playful manner. Building on simple shapes and basic anatomical structures, we will be trying cartoon and realistic styles, exploring faces and expression, and bringing the characters to life.
Join us for the whole 3-week series, because lessons can build upon each other! (single weeks also available separately). Runs 10 to 11:30 am. Designed for children ages 6 through 12.
Week 1 - July 23 and 24 (W/Th)
Week 2 - July 30 and 31 (W/Th)
Week 3 - Aug 6 and 7 (W/Th)

Join us for Ruck for Resilience — a meaningful community event uniting veterans, service members, families, and supporters. Together, we’ll raise awareness for mental health, resilience, and suicide prevention by symbolizing the burdens our soldiers carry and “sharing the weight.”
This all-ages event includes 1-mile and 3-mile ruck options. Participants are encouraged to bring a rucksack or backpack loaded with non-perishable canned goods, which will be donated to the San Luis Obispo Veterans Services Office Food Pantry and Supportive Services for Veterans and Families. During the ruck, you’ll unload these items to represent the release of invisible burdens many veterans face daily.
Check-in begins at 8:00 am, followed by an opening ceremony at 8:45. The first 200 participants will receive a free event t-shirt and lunch ticket, so come early and take part in the kickoff. After the ruck, stick around for the Post-Race Community Gathering with food, music, and camaraderie until 1:00 pm.

Join families from across the county for our annual Family Fun Fair! This annual Los Osos Rotary event takes place on Grandparents Day. It is a multigenerational celebration that features activities, games, and entertainment for all ages. Kids can win tickets redeemable for face painting, prizes, or hot dog meals. Experience unique attractions including our “petting zoos” (with attendant guides) for monsters, the SLO Symphony, reptiles, and insects, plus a Youth Soccer Shoot Out and much more. Enjoy live music from 2:00-4:00 pm, purchase delicious meals, and enter our raffle featuring a Central Coast Staycation Package among other exciting prizes.

The extravagant, lauded and inimitable Menagerie Oddities Market™, whose credo is, “This Ain't Yer Grannies Craft Fair™” brings their 2nd Annual Central Coast Oddities & Curiosities Show back to the Madonna Inn's Expo Center.
On display will be 70 artisans, creators, and purveyors of strange and unusual craftings, baubles, trinkets, ornaments, novelties, knickknacks, ephemera, elegant jewelry, clothing, accessories, medical and scientific specimens, antiques, photography, home decor, taxidermy, works of fine art, and other collectible oddities and curiosities created from components, parts, pieces, bugs, bones, items and elements hand-made, foraged and found.
General admission includes a curated lineup of artists and vendors from near and far, a cast of curious performers to entertain you, a photo booth, face painting, music, tarot readings, two full bars, a food truck court and more!
VIP ticket holders can join the Menagerie’s Misfits a day early, on Friday evening, September 12, for the Masquerade Dinner and Dance Soiree. Meet the Menagerie Misfits in the Secret Garden, feast on the finest foods, enjoy cocktails with friends, and dance to the soundtrack of our Menagerie with a special guest DJ.

The show will feature dealers selling a fantastic array of gems, minerals, fossils, carvings, jewelry, beads, jade, crystals, meteorites, lapidary and metaphysical items. There will be demonstrations of jewelry-making and lapidary crafts.

The Arroyo Grande Summer Concert Series kicks off on July 4th with two concerts (11 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 4 pm) and then continues every Sunday from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the beautiful Bandstand in Heritage Square Park. Food, beer, and wine available. Family friendly, bring your lawn chairs.
