Community Calendar

The Cambria Center for the Arts (CCA) presents "Mix it Up!", a vibrant mixed media exhibition. This showcase celebrates creativity without boundaries, featuring the innovative work of featured artist Carolyn Chambers. Additionally, works by our local artists exploring diverse materials and techniques and combining media in unexpected ways will be on display.

Exhibit runs: September 1 to November 1.
Artist’s Reception: September 5, 4:30 to 6 pm.
Hours: 12 to 4 pm, Tuesday to Sunday.

Ballets Jazz Montréal brings Leonard Cohen’s extraordinary artistic legacy to life in Dance Me, a critically acclaimed contemporary dance production inspired by the music, poetry, and spirit of the legendary Montréal-born artist. Approved by Cohen during his lifetime, this exclusive creation is a powerful tribute that explores the grand cycles of existence through a series of evocative “seasons” drawn from his deeply reflective body of work.

Join us for some wonderful conversation practice. Come for the potluck at 5:00 pm knowing you really do not have to bring a pot. Or come at 5:30 pm for the mini-skills training. We'll review the powerful LAPP skill model of Listen, Acknowledge, Pivot, and Perspective.
Next, we dive in. Our Conversations will focus on practicing the firm two and most important skills: How to Listen and Acknowledge. We are all likely to find we have some common ground.

Allan Hancock College invites the community to a free library-themed live-action wrestling event on campus. Lucha Libros will be bringing the ring, folding chairs, and a non-stop fight against censorship. Come cheer for the luchas as they bring storytelling to life!

TMHA presents an intimate evening of live local music and lush greenery with stories and songs by California Soulgrass artist Miss Leo. Ynana Rose will host and open the show. Bring your own food and beverage in the cozy, plant-filled atmosphere of Growing Grounds.

The Development Directors Roundtable is a collaboration between Spokes and the Association of Fundraising Professionals of San Luis Obispo County.

Spokes roundtables are facilitated, peer networking and problem-solving opportunities held monthly. At the start of the roundtable, participants introduce themselves and share some good news or something that’s “keeping them up at night.”
