SLO Retired Active Men (SLO RAM) is a group or retirees that get together just for fun, fellowship, and to enjoy participation in our variety of weekly/monthly programs and activities. Weekly coffee meetings ($10) are every Thursday at 8:30 am at the Madonna Inn. The Clay Studio in Los Osos is offering a private workshop on local wild/native clay. This is an approx. three hour exploration on identifying, harvesting, and sculpting with our extremely abundant natural resource: Clay. Learn applications such as adobe, cobb, rammed earth, and natural earth renders.*Book a class any day of the week that works for you to come out. We work by donation. Volunteers accomplish a variety of tasks including pathways maintenance, litter patrol of the garden perimeter, weeding, irrigation system expansion/repairs, pruning, and plantings. Volunteers should bring work gloves, a hat, drinking water, and tools related to the above activities. Additional tools are routinely provided by the NNG Committee.First Saturday of each month, rain and holiday weekends generally result in a delay to the 2nd weekend of the month.Call Bruce Berlin at (805) 710-3073 with questions.
In 1989, a small group walking tour of the downtown area began being led by highly knowledgeable volunteer docents. These Saturday tours focused on architectural styles, significant and historic buildings, aesthetics, past and present building usage, and landscape history. To this day, tours are available every Saturday and Sunday at 10 am led by our dedicated and knowledgeable group of volunteer docents. NatureTrack's Family Days field trips (https://naturetrack.org/news-events/) are for parents, grandparents and children to enjoy nature games and activities together. Learn more about the El Capitan State Beach (5/4) and the North Campus Open Space (7/14) on the remaining two inaugural outings scheduled. Freedom Trax units will be provided to people who use wheelchairs or to those who might need extra assistance on the trails at no charge.

The 8th Annual Cambria Bee, Butterfly and Bat Faire will feature observation beehives and bat houses with presentations by local bee, bat and pollinator experts, kids activities and face painting, May Day hat making, fresh local foods, artisanal ciders & regional honey, photography exhibits, books on pollinators, a silent auction, and extraordinary views of the sun through solar telescopes with specialized filters, including a rare blue filter.
