Mental Health First Aid is a 6.5 hour certification course that teaches community members how to help someone who may be developing a mental health challenge or coping with a worsening mental health challenge or substance abuse disorder. Participants learn how to recognize, understand and respond appropriately to signs of mental health challenges of varying intensity, as well as substance use disorders.
The Clay Studio in Los Osos is offering a private workshop on local wild/native clay. This is an approx. three hour exploration on identifying, harvesting, and sculpting with our extremely abundant natural resource: Clay. The UC Master Gardener Program of San Luis Obispo County extends an invitation to the public to visit our SLO demonstration garden. Bring your lunch, tour the garden, ask questions, or just sit and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Garden of the Seven Sisters. Master Gardeners will be available to answer questions.Takes place on the first Wednesday of the month from May to September.
Law Day is a national day set aside to celebrate our legal system. Law Day offers an opportunity to learn about the court and its mission to uphold the law and provide equal justice for all.The court welcomes the public to this free community event. The event will include Ask-A-Lawyer (free general legal advice) and tables hosted by local legal services providers.
