We'll review current nutrition recommendations for cancer survivorship and explore how balanced snacks can support prevention, treatment, and long-term health. You'll learn how to build a smart snack using simple, nourishing ingredients that promote strength, energy, and overall wellness. Attendees will also enjoy sample snacks during the session.
This nutrition class will be presented by Patrick Hopkins, a clinical registered dietitian at Adventist Health. He holds a master's degree in public health and a doctorate in interdisciplinary health sciences.

The Development Directors Roundtable is a collaboration between Spokes and the Association of Fundraising Professionals of San Luis Obispo County.
Spokes roundtables are facilitated, peer networking and problem-solving opportunities held monthly.

Her steadfast dedication to public service earned her the Citizen of the Year award by the San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce and the Cuesta College Woman of Distinction Award.

Join Pacific Wildlife Care for a public talk on the fascinating world of wildlife babies. Learn about ecology, wildlife rehabilitation, common myths, and practical tips for supporting wildlife in your backyard. After the talk, spend a few minutes meeting one of our Wildlife Ambassadors.
This program is free and open to the public, but registration through the SLO Botanical Garden website is required.

The Watershed Stewards Program and The Land Conservancy of SLO County are hosting a restoration event on SLO Creek.
We will be removing invasive plants such as cape ivy, English ivy, and castor bean along the creek. In addition to this, we will removing trash from in and around the creek to help protect steelhead habitat and help restore the creek.
No experience is needed to participate. Please bring sturdy closed-toe shoes, long sleeves, long pants, sunscreen, water, a hat, and waders if you have them. We will provide water, snacks, gloves, and some waders.

A celebration of beavers through music, beaver experts, family-friendly activities, and food! Our keynote speaker is freelance beaver detective Pamela Adams, food for sale by Sichuan Kitchen, music by Cuyama Mama & the Hot Flashes. Free bike valet provided. Local and statewide organizations will share about their efforts to protect the environment and celebrate our biodiversity. This year's festival will focus on how beavers, steelhead, and humans can all help restore health to our rivers and streams.

The Neal Taylor Nature Center Fish Derby is an annual event that has been taking place since the mid 90s. Every year, hundreds of people venture out for weekend of fun, fishing, and festivities.
The event hosts a variety of activities. People of all ages are welcome to participate. Ages 5 and up can participate in the fish weighing contest, and earn cash and fishing gear prizes. There are also several raffles, with prizes that include fishing gear, gift baskets, local restaurant gift certificates, lake cruises, and more.
Other activities include arts & crafts, workshops, bait-making stations, live music at HOOK’d bar & grill, boat rentals, an on-site disc golf course, and several biking and hiking trails.
Please join us for an afternoon at the Carrisa to benefit CASA of San Luis Obispo County. Your ticket includes wine, beer, mocktails, appetizers, live music, and inspiring stories highlighting CASA’s impact on the lives of local children.
Together, we’ll spring into action to bring hope to our county’s youth in foster care!
