Care Crew members will have the opportunity to join us in filling Kongs for our canines to enjoy in their kennels, crafting homemade pet toys, and creating art to help showcase our adoptable animals. Care Crew will be held at our San Luis Obispo location on Sundays from 2:00 to 3:30 pm.

Get ready for the cutest, coziest, and cuddliest hour in your week! Pet Tales welcomes young children and their grownups for a pet-themed story time with our adoptable cats. Curl up with your little one in our ‘Cat Room’ and enjoy read aloud stories, bubbles, and (most importantly) our cats! Join us at our Atascadero location on Tuesdays from 11 am to 12 pm.
Bookworms, assemble! Woods is welcoming animal lovers ages 7 to 17 to join us in reading to our furry friends. Shelter life can be stressful, and reading is proven to relax and comfort companion animals. Book Buddies will be held at our Atascadero location on Tuesdays from 3:30 to 4:30 pm.

Central Coast Assembly IORG & King Solomon's Chapter DeMolay are Masonic Youth groups holding their annual Holiday Pie sale to raise funds for their activities. Pies they are selling Pumpkin $15 and Pecan $18. They invite families with who'd like to learn about their service organizations to join them for some Pie Baking Fun. The groups cater to boys and girls ages 8-18.*Pies may also be purchased for donation. Pies are donated to the local homeless shelter.

The People’s Kitchen of San Luis Obispo will host its annual Thanksgiving meal, continuing a decades-long tradition of community compassion and volunteer service. This year’s holiday meal will be generously provided by Bon Temps Creole Café, a beloved local restaurant known for its soulful Southern flavors and community spirit.
Guests at 40 Prado will enjoy a festive menu, served by volunteers who dedicate their time year-round to providing daily meals. The People’s Kitchen of SLO partners with more than 40 local faith, civic, and business groups to ensure that nutritious, lovingly served lunches are available every day of the year for anyone in need.
