Join White Buffalo Land Trust, SLO Beaver Brigade, and Nature's Engineers for an immersive, one-day workshop exploring the science and practice of Beaver Dam Analogs (BDAs)—low-tech, process-based restoration structures that mimic the ecological functions of natural beaver dams.

Hosted at White Buffalo Land Trust's living laboratory for regenerative agriculture, this workshop combines expert instruction, field exploration, and hands-on construction to provide participants with a practical understanding of how BDAs work with natural processes to restore water, reconnect floodplains, improve habitat, and build more resilient working landscapes.

By the end of the day, you'll leave with both the technical understanding and practical experience to help plan, implement, and support nature-based watershed restoration on the landscapes you steward.

The training cost is $175 USD and includes instruction, materials, and a locally sourced, delicious lunch.

Join us at Estrella Warbirds Museum for a special event honoring veterans and first responders! Enjoy a Show ‘n Shine car show, military vehicles, reenactments, paratrooper drops, first responder displays, a kid zone, and local food, beer, and wine.
You will find all local Police and Fire agencies along with each branch of the military, all displaying their vehicles for you and the kids to get an up-close look.
You can also find plenty of historical military airplanes, helicopters, jets, tanks, and more.
Tickets also include full access to the Warbirds Museum, the Woodland Auto Display, and endless entertainment. This is a full day of family fun, food, and fast cars!

The Templeton Historical Museum Society is hosting the Founders' Day celebration, marking the 1886 arrival of the first passenger train in Templeton. It marked the town as the southern terminus of the San Francisco-to-Los Angeles train line.

The main house, blacksmith shop, and railroad depot will welcome visitors and showcase Templeton's past. The Museum will have antique vehicles, tractors, railroad artifacts, and interactive train experiences to delight its visitors.

Blacksmithing demonstrations, barbershop quartet music, and museum viewing will be ongoing. Guests can learn about the Salinan Tribe's history. Activities for the young and young at heart will include cakewalks and games.

Discover one-of-a-kind artwork and unique gifts created by local artists at The Island of Misfit Art, a special holiday show at Cypress Gallery in downtown Lompoc. From unexpected treasures to handmade gifts, this exhibition celebrates the creativity and individuality of our local art community. Take part in an Indigenous Walking Tour that explores the Cal Poly campus through Indigenous history, knowledge, and lived experience. This tour encourages thoughtful listening, learning, and connection to place. Since this will be a small group guided tour, spots are limited to 25 individuals maximum.
